New Jersey Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Susan Hughes, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Over time, fat and other structures within our body that keeps our skin looking youthful and plumped up, begin to break down. This results in facial depressions, folds and wrinkles. Fat transfer can plump up these creased and sunken areas, and it can also add fullness to the lips and cheeks. This fat can even improve upon the skin's texture. If you are interested in this procedure, fat transfer is available here at the practice of New Jersey cosmetic surgeon Dr. Susan Hughes.
Fat taken from your own body offers the most natural, safe and long-lasting facial restorative procedure. During the fat transfer procedure, a syringe is used to take fat from areas of the body such as the abdomen, flanks, saddle bags and knees. The fat is processed and then injected into the needed areas. 40-80% of the fat injected lasts for three years or more. However, results of the fat transfer can vary from patient to patient. Many patients come back for touch-ups.
To learn more about undergoing fat transfer, you can read more information on our website. If you would like to see the results of patients that have undergone fat transfer at our New Jersey facility, be sure to check out our before and after photo gallery.
